GUARDIAN OF THE TOWER: HACKNEY MUSEUM

Working with Grim Times was a fantastic experience for Hackney Museum. Professional, creative and with immaculate attention to detail, they far exceeded the brief in bringing an ancient building and some former Hackney residents to life, through thorough research, excellent creative direction and production skills.  I couldn’t recommend Ian and this team highly enough”

THE CLINK PRISON MUSEUM REVAMP AND CREATIVE CONSULTANCY

I have to say that over many years now without Ian’s input The Clink would not be what it is today. He has enriched and visualised the product and in doing so have added a layer that we could not have done on our own, I would like to say I personally have really appreciated his input

Ray Rankin. Owner.

History bought alive - The clink has been wonderfully renovated and updated. It's full of the true, gory facts of life in pre 20th century British prisons as well as the very gory history of The Clink. Just loved it! I was here 10 years ago and the update of The Clink is excellently done"

Informative, highly illustrative and interesting history - what you'd expect at a MUSEUM. Considering they're limited for space, they've done a good job of getting in as much information as possible, without making it too overwhelming. In fact, being quite small and underground certainly adds to the atmosphere; you almost feel you're a prisoner yourself!

WICKED WOMEN: CAMDEN LOCAL STUDIES AND ARCHIVES CENTRE & HOXTON HALL

Grim Times have written and performed a fantastic piece of historical drama, using fairy tales as inspiration to tell the true life (and death) stories of five Camden women of past times.  Exploring issues such as mental illness, witchcraft, victimisation, prostitution, and physical abuse, they are portrayed in a spellbinding, vital and touching way which was completely gripping.   Thanks again for the fantastic performances

Frances Johnson: Library customer services officer

'I enjoyed Wicked Women very much. The Camden Archive, a wonderful place in itself, was transformed into a versatile set and the cast members, in sound, vision and verve made excellent use of their close working to ring the changes on many parts. The script was great and a bit of history too. Or was I fooled into thinking it true, the stories were thoroughly plausible but was I perhaps seduced by excellent drama?' Many thanks, it's all true!”
Lynn-Marie Harper

“ I thought the show was fantastic, really interesting, informative and great acting. I really liked the concept and the fact that some of the scripts were taken from the transcripts at the Old Bailey. Really good and would recommend”

Vikki Lewis.

"Wicked Women" was a beautifully put together, well acted and highly entertaining piece of theatre which played to full houses in Camden Archives Centre and really brought the dark side of Camden's history to life"

I'M A VICTORIAN GET ME OUT OF HERE: CHILDRENS HISTORY SHOW

I'm  a Victorian, Get Me Out of Here was a brilliantly entertaining interactive show which kept both the children and their parents engaged and entertained throughout. There were lots of opportunities for the children to get involved and they loved every minute of it!
